What is Best Buddies?
Best Buddies aims to encourage participants to cross the invisible line that too often separates those with disabilities from those without, in and outside of the school. Maynard High School Best Buddies meets weekly and participates in special events and fundraisers. Please see Katie Panakis, Mrs. Maclean or stop by the Connections room if you're interested in joining.

Best Buddy of the Month
Starting the month of March we will be choosing a best buddy of the month. The best buddy of the month embodies what it is to be an extraordinary best buddy. Every month we will choose a new buddy to be best buddy of the month.
To be best buddy of the month students must: attend every meeting that month, interact with all buddies, be a nice buddy, provide ideas for upcoming events, have lunch with a buddy at least twice a month, go out of his/her way to do something nice for a buddy without looking for recognition.
Spread the Word to End the Word
We are working hard to end the use of the r-word. This word offends many people and you may not realize who you're offending when you use it. We want to remind everyone to to THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK! Please, check out www.r-word.org to take the pledge to spread the word to end the word.
